Mary Louise Gifford
Biographical Information
Mary Louise Gifford was a member of the Technical Support Unit for the Synthesis Report of UNEP WMO Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change at the Energy and Resources Institute in Delhi, India. She graduated at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), Syracuse NY with a 3.8 GPA in Environmental Engineering. In her academic career to date, Mary Louise has been involved with varied aspects of scientific research that include studies of indoor air quality, photosynthetic rates, hydrology, and the design of willow biomass hazardous waste landfill covers. In 2003, she co-founded a university chapter of “Engineers without Borders” at Syracuse University. The following year, as chapter president, she led a micro-hydro education and demonstration project in Dominica and participated in a trail reconstruction and education project in Honduras to help promote ecotourism. Her current research interests lie in the development of renewable energy sector, particularly in developing Asian countries. |
