Richard R. Ernst
Professor Emeritus of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich, Switzerland |
After having received his Ph. D. in Technical Sciences from the Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Richard R Ernst worked with
Varian Associates in Palo Alto, California. He returned to the ETH in
1968 where he became Full Professor in 1976. He was awarded the Nobel
Prize in Chemistry in 1991, for his contributions to the development of
the methodology of high resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)
spectroscopy. |
