The Second World Knowledge Dialogue Symposium will be held on September 10-13, 2008 in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.

The 2008 Symposium will start with an interactive session on the conditions necessary for a fruitful dialogue. Audience participation will be central during the next two days, with plenary sessions taking place in the mornings and discussion workshops in the afternoons. Two main interdisciplinary topics chosen by our international Scientific Board, provide the themes that will guide our debate:

1. Collective network knowledge & human individual intelligence:
Convergences and divergences

2. Collaborative Behaviour, Altruism & Conflict:
From animal behaviour to economics and prevention of violence

Keynote lectures by Nobel prize winners Christiane Nüsslein-Vollhard and Sir John Sulston will encourage participants to frame their contributions in terms of the following question:

Does a knowledgeable person have additional responsibilities in the 21st century?
